Mole → Mass and Mass →Moles

Some questions will give you an amount of moles and ask you to determine the mass
Converting Moles to mass only requires one additional step

Examples:
1)Moles to Grams:
2)Grams to Moles:

Examples:
How many grams of water are produced if 0.84 mol of Phosphorite Acid is completely neutralized by Barium Hydroxide.
  • 2H3PO4 + 3Ba(OH) 6H2O + Ba3(PO4)2
  • 0.84 mol H3PO4 x 6H2O/ 2H3PO4 = 2.52 mol H2O
  • 2.52 H2O x 18.02g/ 1 H20 =45.36 45g

Example 2:
How many moles of Lead(II) Nitrate are consumed when 4.5g of Sodium Sulphide completely reacts?
  • Pb(NO3)2 + 1 Mol Na2S 1PbS + 2Na(NO3)
  • 4.5g Na2S x 1 Pb(NO3)2/ 78.1g Na2S = 0.0576 mol Pb(NO3)2
  • 0.0576 mol x 1 Pb(NO3)2/ 1 Mol Na2S= 0.0576 mol Pb(NO3)2
